Billy and Jennifer were rumored to have dated during the filming of “Inventing the Abbots”, in which their characters have a very strong sexual relationship. After filming ended Jennifer began dating her son Kai’s father David Dugan and became pregnant with him. Billy Crudup began dating longtime girlfriend Mary Louise Parker.

Billy and Jennifer reunited again as passionate lovers in the 2000 film “Waking the Dead”, after Billy who was already cast lobbied for Jennifer to get the part. Billy was still dating Mary Louise and Jennifer was dating Josh Charles, however the two grew so close during filming that there were rumors of an affair. Mary Louise and Billy went through a rough patch during this time; she was especially upset over rumors that the sex scenes in the film were real. However both Billy and Jennifer continued dating their partners when filming ended.
