Chester met Talinda at a party while he was still married to his first wife Samantha. He says that meeting her made him realize that he could be happy, and he went home and separated from his wife. He did not have an affair with Talinda.

They announced the pregnancy in September 2005 and were married New Years Eve 2005. Their son Tyler Lee was born in March 2006.
