I don`t really know why everyone gets so bent out of shape about Esther outing Jeff Chandler. They were a pretty big item back in the day so of course she would write about him in her book. What would she have written? We were together and then we just broke up?

According to Esther William`s autobiography, her 3 year relationship with Jeff Chandler ended after he shared with her that he was a cross dresser. After he went to work the next morning, she rummaged through his closet in his painting studio. Their she found many dresses,hats, lingerie etc.

When he came home she told him she could no longer be with him. She also told him to get rid of all of his polka dot dresses, blouses, and hats. Her parting words were, "Jeff, you`re too big for polka dots."
