We bet Howard Hughes never imagined that his relationship with Terry Moore would cause a legal wrangling. But after his death in 1976 she had to go through a court battle to prove that she had married him at sea. The screen actress was eventually recognised by the Hughes estate as his widow and still calls herself Mrs. Howard Hughes.
After Howard Hughes died, she claimed that the pair had secretly married on a yacht in international waters off the coast of Mexico in 1949 and never divorced. Despite the fact that Moore married two other men while she was still "married" to Hughes, his estate paid her an undisclosed settlement in 1984.
October 52 has a miscarriage in Munich while filming Man On a Tightrope and gives birth to a baby daughter from Hughes that is too premature to survive. Kirk Douglas sends flowers.
