Story: 27 JANUARY 2003 Zoe Ball has taken some time off work in the hope of saving her troubled marriage to Norman Cook.

The Xfm presenter is also reported to have ended an affair with dance music DJ Dan Peppe. Norman has meanwhile revealed that he only found out about her relationship with Peppe at the weekend, despite the fact that their marriage has been in trouble for some time.

"I still love her," he said.

"If you love someone you`ll forgive them.

I`ve spoken to her and she is genuinely remorseful.

She said `I`m so so sorry.` I still want her to come back as long as she promises she won`t see him again." The 39-year-old says he is willing to give Zoe another chance for the sake of their two-year-old son.

"I want it to work out for the sake of Woody and us.

I still maintain we are the perfect couple," he said.

Zoe apparently decided to confess the affair as she was afraid the papers would uncover it anyway.

She met Peppe through DJ Jon Carter, who is married to her close friend Sara Cox.

The 32-year-old is now taking some time to herself as she works out how to move forward.

On Sunday night she pinned a note on the door of her Belsize Park home reading: "Please don`t ring doorbell.

Baby asleep.

Telephone or knock gently.

Thanks."
