Early career:

The daughter of an undertaker, Luis López, Adamari started her career at the age of six, alongside legendary Puerto Rican actress Johanna Rosaly and Venezuelan singer José Luis Rodríguez, El Puma, in the Telemundo Canal 2 production of the Cristina Bazán soap opera.

Her talent indicated a future superstar. WAPA-TV next chose her to play Iris Chacon and Daniel Guerrero`s daughter in Yo sé que mentía. She was then nine years old, and was given one of the most important roles of the story. López became a household name.

A short, two chapter appearance on Vivir Para Ti followed in 1983, and after that, López decided to dedicate herself to her studies. She holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of the Sacred Heart in Puerto Rico.Her career spans over 20 years, when at the age of 7 Adamari Lopez made her debut in the novela Maria Eugenia. The acting bug hit and soon she appeared in several other works Yo Se Que Mentia, Vivir Para Ti , and Aventurera, most before even hitting her teens, including an impressive job in a novela with Iris Chacon.

Besides working in Puerto Rican novelas the majority of Adamari Lopez`s early life, she also had an impressive big screen debut in her native land starring in "Guagua Aerial," by director Luis Molina Casanova. In 1995 Adamari Lopez was part of the stellar cast of the Jacobo Morales film, "Linda Sara" (Prett
y Sara), co-starring with Chayanne and Dayanara Torres (Miss Universe 1993).

Adamari Lopez - the Puerto Rican actress who continues to break through internationally recognizes that Mexico opened the doors for her on that level.

She has lived in Mexico for over four years now and stated in an interview in EL GRAN DIARIO DE MEXICO."[In Mexico] I have made the best career moves....I am grateful to Televisa and the opportunity that they have given me, because it is the springboard for Central and South America."

Besides acting, Adamari Lopez also enjoys hosting talk shows, modeling, doing voice overs, dancing and is the Vidal Sasoon spokes model in Puerto Rico. In 1999, Adamari appeared in the June/July issue of "People En Espanol" as one of 25 Bellezas Latinas del 1999 (Beautiful People of `99).

Her private life has become a favorite subject of paparazzi and gossip magazines, and her breakup from actor Mauricio Islas was well published.

She is the girlfriend of fellow Puerto Rican singing super star Luis Fonsi. Adamari Lopez was involved in a mini scandal in Puerto Rico, where a camera man filmed her while she was leaving a swimming pool, which supposedly caused Fonsi`s brother to allegedly beat the photographer up. Because of this, there is a claim in court against the Fonsi brothers. In 2006, Lopez and Fonsi announced they would be getting married during the summer of that year.

Adulthood and fame:

After reaching the age of majority, she came back, participating in several plays at Puerto Rico`s Teatro Tapia, San Juan`s premier and oldest theater, and getting the attention of Mexican producers.

She traveled to Mexico next, after the invitation by the producers to try out there, and became a superstar in that country as well, working in many top soap operas, including Camila and the national super hit Amigas y Rivales. López also
