Alessandra Mussolini was elected to the Italian Parliament as a representative of the right-wing Alleanza Nazionale party in Naples. [1992] (imdb.com) Granddaughter of Benito Mussolini and niece of Sophia Loren. (imdb.com) In 1992 she was elected to the House of Commons. (imdb.com) She graduated from university in 1992, specializing in surgery. (imdb.com) She is the daughter of Italian jazz pianist Romano Mussolini and actress Anna Maria Mussolini. Her grandfather was the WWII dictator of Italy, Benito Mussolini, who of course died before she was born. Her mother is the sister of actress Sophia Loren. She was also the niece of Edda Mussolini, Vittorio Mussolini and Bruno Mussolini and the niece by marriage of Galeazzo Ciano. (imdb.com) She ran for Mayor of Naples but lost out to Antonio Bassolino.
