Camryn Elizabeth Grimes (born January 7, 1990) is an American actress. Camryn is the daughter of Preston Lee and Heather Grimes. Camryn has six siblings, four sisters and two brothers. She is of Irish and German heritage. She was well-known for her role as Cassie Newman on The Young and the Restless, which she started portraying in 1997, winning a Daytime Emmy for her work in 2000. In May 2005, Grimes` character was written off the show when she died from injuries sustained in a car accident. Camryn played the part of Holly in the 2001 movie Swordfish alongside Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, and John Travolta. She has guest-starred on Medium, JAG, and ER. Her maternal uncle, Scott Grimes, was a regular on the latter. On The Young and the Restless, she played the role of Cassidy "Cassie" Ann Newman. She played the role from the time she was 7 to the time she was 14, at which point her character was killed off. Since departing the show, she has occasionally made guest appearances when a scene requires the presence of Cassie`s spirit.
