Cassie Powney is a British actress who played the role of Mel Burton in the soap opera Hollyoaks, alongside her twin sister Connie who played Sophie Burton. In fact, the twins are two of a set of triplets. The third sister, Cathy, is the eldest by three minutes, but unfortunately did not make it past the rigorous audition process for Hollyoaks.

She has been interested in acting since childhood and did a lot of twin roles with Connie, including a twin role in the 2003 film What A Girl Wants which also starred the teen Hollywood star Amanda Bynes.
