Connie Powney is a British actor who played the role of Sophie Burton in the soap opera Hollyoaks from 2003 to 2006, alongside her twin sister Cassie who played Mel Burton. Connie was born in Seaford in Sussex and attended Varndean College and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. In fact, the twins are two of a set of triplets. The third sister, Cathy, is the eldest by three minutes, but unfortunately did not make it past the rigorous audition process for Hollyoaks. Their birthday is May 22nd.

She has been interested in acting since childhood and did a lot of twin roles with Cassie, including a twin role in the 2003 film What A Girl Wants which also starred the teen Hollywood star; Amanda Bynes. She was nominated for the Best Actress Award at the 2006 British Soap Awards but lost out to Lacey Turner
