Deborra-Lee Furness is an Australian actress, director and producer born in 1955.
Furness is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts New York. She met actor Hugh Jackman when they co-starred on the Australian series Correlli in 1995, and the couple married in February 1996. They have adopted two children: Oscar Maximilian Jackman, born 15 May 2000, and Ava Eliot Jackman, born 10 July 2005.
Furness is also a partner in the production company Jackman founded with John Palermo, Seed Productions.
In 2000 Furness was nominated for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Guest Role in a Television Drama award at the Australian Film Institute awards.
In 2006 the Australian Film Institute nominated Furness as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Ray Lawrence`s Jindabyne. She lost to Susie Porter for The Caterpillar Wish. Furness won the same award however at the Film Critics Circle of Australia awards.
