Desi did not have a son by Patty Duke. Her son, actor Sean Astin, was by actor John Astin, from the TV series the Addams Family.

Desi Jr. also dated Counntry supertsar Tanya Tucker briefly in the late eighties (circa, 1978) She writes in her biography `Nickel Dreams` that they had at least one date, and that it was very innocent, and she got to tour his mothers house.
