Emily Robison was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on 16 August, 1972. She was born with the name Emily Burns Erwin. Her parents are Paul Erwin and Barbara Trask. Her sister is Martie Maguire. She plays the banjo for the music band Dixie Chicks, along with her sister Martie, and Natalie Maines. She, along with Natalie and Martie, were featured in Dixie Chicks on the Fly (2000) (TV). They also sung songs for the Julia Roberts film, Runaway Bride (1999). In May 1999, Emily married Charlie Robison.
