Jeff was the second actor to play Thorne, assuming the role in August 1989. A trained singer and musician, Jeff and his co-star Bobbie Eakes (Macy Alexander) frequently sing love duets which advance their story line and have added a rich musical dimention to the dramatic series.
Jeff is familiar to daytime audiences for his starring roles as Hunter Belden on Loving and Boyce McDonald on One Lives to Live. Born in Staten Island, New York, Jeff attended St. John`s University where he received a degree in Psychology and Theater Arts. After attending the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic and Arts, Jeff went on to appear in the feature films Do It Up and Catch Your Future and in the HBO Special Robert Klein on Broadway. Jeff`s extensive stage experience includes starring as Prince Charming in the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera`s production of Cinderella, co-starring his I/B&BI/wife, Bobbie Eakes, as well as television legends Jayne Meadows, Steven Allen and Rose Marie. He also appeared opposite Bobbie Eakes in the west coast production of Love Letters. Jeff played the mad dentist in Little Shop of Horrors at the Burt Reynolds Jupiter Theater, and appeared in the Richard Foreman/Stanley Silverman production of Africanis Instructus at the prestigious Lenox Arts Center. He has also had lead roles in Cabaret, Equus, Grease, Media Messiah and Bleacher Bums at theaters around the country. Currently, Jeff is starring on Broadway, playing Danny Zuko in the extremely popular Tommy Tune production of Grease. Jeff is an accomplished, trained singer, and stand up comedian. He has made appearances in nightclub acts opposite Bobbie Eakes in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Toronto. As a soloist he has opened for Bob Hope at the Beverly Hills Hilton. He frequently donates his musical talents at various charity functions around the country and has contributed to the album With Love From the Soaps. Last year, Jeff appeared in Agency, a one-man play in the Los Angeles area, receiving rave reviews. Trachta, with his co-star Bobbie Eakes, released a double-platinum, chart-topping album thoughout Europe titled Bold and Beautiful Duets. This was followed by a second album. Other recent projects include a lead role in the direct-to-video release of Night Eyes 4 with Paula Barbieri. Jeff also appeared as Brent Jekyl in The Munster Movie for FOX TV, which aired on Halloween, 1995. In his spare time, Jeffe enjoys traveling and has recently made several trips to Italy promotional appearances. When he is in Los Angeles, Jeff enjoys spending time relaxing at home with his dogs. Jeff`s other interests; vocal impersonations, all sports, particularly skiing (water and snow), running, weight lifting and roller skating. Jeff has green eyes, blond hair and stands 6`2". His birth-date is October 6. |
