José María Torre (born José María Torre Hutt on November 4, 1977 in Mexico City) is a Mexican actor and fashion designer who started his career at the age of five doing television commercials. He is the brother of actresses Fátima and Andrea Torre. He dated actress Camila Sodi. He is now dating actress Bárbara Mori and is known by the nickname "Chema".
Torre started his acting career at an early age doing commercials, at the age of 12 he obtained a small role in the telenovela Yo compro esa mujer on Televisa, playing the role of Alejandro (Eduardo Yáñez) as a child. Later that year he also participated in Amor de nadie, a story starred by Lucía Méndez. Three years later he played the role of Lucero`s brother in Los parientes pobres. In 1994 he obtained a role in the telenovela Agujetas de color de rosa, starring Angélica María. He sang two songs for the soundtrack of the telenovela: Siempre estarás en mí (in duet with Irán Castillo and Cruce de sonrisas. Since then he has made more than ten telenovelas with Televisa.
In 2004 he dated singer Paulina Rubio. He is Catholic. In addition to his acting career he has pursued an additional in fashion design. He released his line of clothes on October 27, 2005 before the press in the company of his girlfriend, Uruguayan-born Bárbara Mori. Torre started dating Mori after his breakup with Rubio and the end of her relationship with Colombian actor Manolo Cardona.
