Kamala Lopez is believed to have been born in New York and was raised mostly in Venezuela. Her mother was Indian and her father Venezuelan. Kamala is a director, producer, editor, writer, film maker, and actress. She studied Philosophy and Theatre Studies at Yale University from which she graduated with a B. A. Degree in 1985.
Lopez is known for her many roles in television and film, having more than five dozen movie and show titles on her resume, dating from 1986 (Miami Vice) to present, including guest spots in such hits as Hill Street Blues (’87), Beverly Hills, 90210 (‘92), Murder, She Wrote (‘92), Walker, Texas Ranger (‘94), and even Star Trek - Voyager in 2000, just to name a few.
She has nearly a dozen projects that she has produced since 1993, several she has directed since 2000, and several more that she either wrote and/or edited as well.
It is believed that Kamala married actor Joel Marshall in 2007.
