Leora Dana was a character actress born on April 1, 1923. For an actress in film, Leora got a late start when she appeared in WILLIAMSBURG: THE STORY OF A PATRIOT in 1956, at the age of 33, as Annie Fry. Although this fine actress made only 19 films in her lifetime, she received some plum roles. One of the films which helped Leora to stand out was 1958`s SOME CAME RUNNING where she played Agnes Hirsh, the wife of a small town jeweler (Arthur Kennedy). She was superb as the social climbing spouse who couldn`t stand her husband`s brother (Frank Sinatra). Leora`s last film was in 1984`s NOTHING LASTS FOREVER, which was released after she died on December 13, 1983.
