His father is bodybuilder Mike Harvey, better known as former Gladiators hero "Bullitt". MC Harvey himself came to prominence in 2001 with UK garage act So Solid Crew.
After leaving the band, he has developed a TV career on reality TV shows The Games on Channel Four in 2003 (which he won) and several series of The Match on Sky One. He has also appeared on several programmes as a guest including Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and has hosted the dance competition Bump n Grind on the youth cable channel Trouble and Footballers` Pads on Sky One.
In 2006, he made his theatre debut in London`s West End in the musical Daddy Cool.
He acted as the commentator in EA`s FIFA Street.
On 10 April, 2008, MC Harvey participated in a celebrity version of Channel 4 show Come Dine With Me, along with fellow celebrities Jonathan Ansell, Tamara Beckwith and Lynsey de Paul. Harvey finished joint first with Jonathan Ansell, both of whom scored 21 points.
