Hello Jane, I knew Paula and it saddens me to read messages like yours; I wish you could have seen Paula and Michael together, despite what it says in books and magazines he did love Paula. Did he know he wrote songs for her, including Girl on Fire and She Flirts For England? People were never sure about Blair, Rhett said she was made up by Pat and Tina. Linda :)

You need more names on this list - he was seeing an American girl named Jonnie , they shared his apartment in Hong Kong for a couple of years. There is also a Blair from Los Angeles whom he spent time with in 97, when he was with Paula whom he did not want to marry. It`s tragic - Paula chased him for 10 years and he didn`t get involved with her until he was already having mental issues. She made it worse and perhaps quickened his demise by threats to harm herself and the baby if he didn`t marry her. Yates was a manipulative liar who was cheating on Geldof before Michael.

Michael and Paula used to come into a club were I worked, they always seemed very happy together. Michael was always touching or kissing Paula.

I am sorry to say this but the Paula Yates relationship should not have happened, although one beautiful thing came from it which was Tiger Lily. She was a married woman and their lust and selfishness destroyed them in their end.

I still remember driving in my car in 1997 and listening to the radio and hearing the dj say that Michael Hutchence was dead. I couldn`t believe it and refused to believe it. When I got home I called that dj and asked him to confirm and he did. Then for Paula Yates to end up bad as well. Their poor children. What a sad story all around. RIP Michael and Paula!

Ah, interesting. I got my info from his sister`s biography . One thing his sister said is that he was a notorious liar, especially in interviews. She said he would make things up b/c he would get bored. She said she would watch interviews and know he was bs`ing about stuff from their childhoods, etc. Also she said he was cheating with Helena for a while before officially dumping Kylie, so in his mind maybe they were broken up earlier! Haha. Anyway if you google it you can read most of his sister`s biography online, it`s really detailed and interesting.

Michael actually dated Kylie from late 1989 (about Nov) to early 1991. So it actually was over a year, but not quite a year and a half. He started dating Helena before he had technically broken up with Kylie, around Feb 91. He did the same thing to Helena with Paula Yates.
