Mike "The Man of" Stone
Mike Stone was born on the island of Oatu, the main island of Hawaii. At the age of five his father moved the family to Maui. Mike grew up in a small town, with a population of about 3000 people. The neighbourhood he lived in as a kid was mostly inhabited by portuguese people, in a place called Cowboy Country. Mike was always a very athletic child, and received an award for outstanding achievement in the field of basketball, so he was able to go to a very dignified high school. Mike first got into contact with martial arts at the age of 17, when he began training Aikido, where he was fortunate to train under a world class instructor. It was only a matter of time before his athletic ability began to shine, and his senior year in high school he had become the captain of the football team and the captain of the basketball team. Within 2 weeks of Mike’s graduations from high school, he volunteered for the United States Army, for a tour of 3 years. He was stationed for the most part of his enlistment in Arkansas, where he met a man, Sergeant Herbert Peters, who became his Karate instructor. And within six months of starting his Karate training, Mike “The Man Of” Stone had become a black belt, and the world champion.
