Omar, did convert to Islam when he married a Muslim woman some years back. I am not sure if he currently practices the faith, but he did at one time convert to it.

I have seen Omar Sharif`s `Doctor Zhivago` 4 times... A wonderful movie to talk about, which may be compared with Sophia Loren`s `Sun Flower`. So enthralling... I like their acting.
