Shane was born in Harlesden, North West London, on 11th March 1964 to parents Lily and Harry. Since a young age Shane knew he wanted to perform. He would skip school and go to the local youth theatre instead. When he would return home with make up on, his dad began to get suspicious and think he was gay! Shane has a younger brother - Dean, who is also interested in the business, although there has been no sign of him yet we hope to see his success in the future! In 1988 Shane and his partner Coleen Nolan (youngest of the singing Nolan Sisters) had their first child, a son which they called Shane (Jnr). Shane ran around the hospital in Middlesex, filming his families reactions.
In March 1990 Shane and Coleen wed in Florida in front of just a few people. Although they did later (in 1997) renew their wedding vows in Blackpool with all their families present. In 1992, came the arrival of their second son, Jake, again born in Middlesex. To this day Shane adores the boys and there`s nothing he won`t do for them. Shane & Coleen sadly parted in the summer of 1999, and both went on to find happiness with new partners. Shane with Claire Tyler, a pretty dancer whom has been in numerous musicals (Grease, Happy Days, Smokey Joes Cafe, Starlight Express & Boogie Nights). Coleen on the other hand got together with David Bather, a decorator & bouncer from Blackpool. The relationship sadly didn`t work out, however she eventually found happiness with Ray Fensome, a musician. They now have a daughter,Ciara who affectionately calls Shane `Uncle Shane`. Shane & Claire parted in November 2001 and Shane is now head over heels in love with Christie Goddard. An ex presenter on `Generation Game` and a dancer on Top of the Pops. Christie has also released a single for the programme `Robot Wars` which reached number 17 in the charts!
Shane has been involved in many television shows - Up to something, You`ve gotta be Joking, Caught in the act, Win Lose or Draw, Run the Risk and most recently - Lucky Numbers, The Shane Richie Experience and the follow up to that, Love Me Do. Shane has also appeared in a film of Macbeth playing the Porter, which was screened on Channel 4. Other film credits include a gangster in a short film titled `Dead Clean`, a character called `Paul` in thriller `Distant Shadow` and of course `Shoreditch`. Shane put alot of money into the making of `Shoreditch`. It premiered in London`s West End in November 2003, however is yet to be released on DVD/Video. Shane`s only wish now is to phone his mum up at 4am in the morning to tell her about the Oscar he just won! Shane`s latest venture into TV, is in BBC1 Soap Eastenders playing `Alfie Moon`. His character first appeared on 21st November 2002 and is proving to be a popular hit. Shane is not only famous for his tv shows but is also the star of musicals aswell!
