Sharise Ruddell grew up in Orange County, California. She had an interest in surfing and was the only girl in her high school surf team.

She made her way to Los Angeles and worked there as a stripper and mud wrestler at the club named Tropicana. She met her coming husband Vince Neil, the singer of Motley Crue, as he used to invite female mud wrestlers to wrestle for him and his guests to his house.
When they started dating in 1987 Sharise stopped dancing and mud wrestling. Vince also offered to give her money to quit those.

They got married in April 1988 and their daughter Skylar Lynnae Neil was born in March 1991. Vince and Sharise separated in 1993 and two years later, in August 1995, their only child Skylar died of cancer at the age of four.
