Taran Killam (born April 1, 1982) is an American comic, actor, and singer. He can currently be seen on Scrubs. Killam was born in Culver City, California and graduated from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. His name is of Sanskrit origin and means "heaven." His great-uncle was Robert Stack (The Untouchables). On November 26, 2008, TV Guide reported that Killam and girlfriend Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother) are expecting their first child in 2009. On January 28, 2009, it was announced that the couple is engaged. Their daughter Shaelyn Cado Killam arrived on Saturday, May 16th. In 1994, Taran Killam he made his first film appearance as an adolescent in Naked Gun 33¨÷: The Final Insult.
In 2001, he joined the cast of MADtv as a feature performer for the seventh season. His tenure on MADtv was limited to only one season and he did not return. He was a regular cast member on the third and fourth seasons of Nick Cannon`s Wild `N Out. Nobody`s Watching never aired on network TV, however the show was leaked and webisodes continued until June 2007 on YouTube. After MADtv, Killam appeared on TV shows such as How I Met Your Mother, Jake in Progress, Still Standing, Boston Public, The Amanda Show, Drake & Josh, Do Over, Roswell and Judging Amy. He is currently appearing on Scrubs and Scrubs: Interns as Jimmy (The Overly Touchy Orderly). His film credits include roles in Just Married, Big Fat Liar, Anderson`s Cross, Stuck in the Suburbs and My Best Friend`s Girl. Killam appeared as a contestant on the episode of The Price is Right which aired on December 7, 2006; the episode was re-aired on July 19, 2007. Taran Killam showed off his singing skills in Stuck in the Suburbs, which starred Danielle Panabaker and Brenda Song.
