Taylor is of Trinidadian and African American descent. She is a rapper and singer from Harlem, New York. She currently resides in New Rochelle, New York. She choreographed Beyonce`s "Ring the Alarm" video in 2006.

A protége of Pharrell, she signed to Star Trak Entertainment. Her debut single, "Google Me" was released with a music video in 2008. Teyana appeared on MTV`s My Super Sweet 16 in 2007 to celebrate her sixteenth birthday.

Taylor`s debut album will be called From a Planet Called Harlem and is expected to be released in 2009.

Teyana has also appeared in Jay-Z`s "Blue Magic."

She recently appeared in an episode of MTV Digs: MADE while helping shape a dance routine for a boy wanting to become a hip-hop dancer.
