Timothy "Tim" Daly (born James Timothy Daly on March 1, 1956 in New York City, New York) is an Emmy Award and the Screen Actors Guild Award nominated American stage, screen and voice actor, director and producer. He may be best known for his television role as Joe Hackett on the long-running NBC sitcom Wings. He is currently starring as Peter Wilder on the Grey`s Anatomy spin-off, Private Practice. Daly and his wife, actress Amy Van Nostrand, married on September 18, 1982. They have two children: son Sam born in 1984, and daughter Emelyn, born in 1989.
