Vanessa Simmons is the daughter of Run-DMC co-founder Joseph Simmons. She isn`t just a hip-hop princess but also a runway model, recently appearing in a runway fashion show in which proceeds went to the Ronald McDonald House. She had passed for the 82nd hottest women in Maxim`s 2006 Hot 100, garnering sexy photo shoots and comments from her family. Her father states that he was shocked when he was told that Vanessa would be posing sexy for Maxim magazine. She even did not let her father come to the photo shoot, so her younger sister, Angela joined her instead. As a reverend father, it was quite difficult for him to accept that his daughter was indeed growing up and having fun with her life, though he states that he is open minded with her decisions. Vanessa is the eldest among Joseph`s children, a model and aspiring actress currently finishing her studies in St. John`s University. Together with her sister Angela, Vanessa launched a sneaker line inspired by the hip-hop culture. This like for fashion and culture was influenced by their relatives Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons, who were responsible for the fashion revolution in Phat Farm, Def Jam University, and Baby Phat. Their sneaker line is named Pastry, and named after cakes like Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Mousse, Sprinkles, and Red Velvet which comprises their first collection entitled Cake.
