Topher Grace Biography

Topher Grace, born as Christopher Grace, was born in New York City on July 12th, 1978. Raised in Darien, Connecticut, he began acting in middle and high school, performing in musicals and plays. In 7th Grade, Grace decided to be called Topher, after becoming annoyed at being called "Chris" all the time. He attended Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

After attending the University of Southern California his freshman year, he dropped out to star in a newcoming sitcom, That 70`s Show. One of the creators of the show had a daughter attending the same school as Grace, and saw him performing the lead in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. The show was an unexpected smash hit, and so started Topher`s tread through Hollywood.

In 2000, Grace had a small breakthrough role in Traffic, in which he plays Seth Abrahms, a prep school boy who turns his girlfriend onto cocaine and heroin. He also had a small uncredited role in Ocean`s Eleven.

More Recently, Grace has moved onto bigger movies. He played opposite Julia Stiles in 2003`s Mona Lisa Smile, and a leading role in Win a Date with Tad Hamilton. He had a co-starring role in 2004`s P.S., and starred in 2004`s In Good Company. In 2005, he had the honor of hosting Saturday Night Live.

One of Topher`s biggest movies, however, is sure to be the summer blockbuster Spiderman 3. Topher will be playing Venom, one of Spiderman`s foes in the movie. Many people are anxiously awaiting seeing Topher act as the villian.

There is something so unique about Topher. Maybe he reminds me of friends I had in high school...definitely some unforgettable times. Topher acts so naturally that I find it so easy to compare him to close friends I`ve had. You get nothing but my highest respect!!
