Short BiographyAmy Madigan (born September 11, 1950) is an American actress who is known for her role as Annie Kinsella in the 1989 film Field of Dreams and Iris Crowe in the HBO television series Carnivale. Madigan was born in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Dolores, a union worker, and John Madigan, a Chicago-area political analyst, newspaper journalist, broadcast and media personality and lawyer. Madigan studied philosophy at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, piano at the The Music Conservatory of Chicago College of Performing Arts , and also attended the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. She moved to Los Angeles in 1970.Madigan is also a political activist; among other things, she has served on the national board of NARAL Pro-Abortion America, a pro-abortion/women`s rights organization.
