Her debut album, Because I Can, was released in the U.S. on her 17th birthday, January 27th 2004. It includes Lemon and Teachin` Myself to Dream. A third song, Overdrive, was included in the movie Mean Girls (which opened later that year) and was released as a successful single.
Her debut album displays a wide range of different vocal styles including grunge music and lounge music, but with pop hooks.
She released her second album Candy Eyed on June 4th 2007. She also stated she would release three exclusive Paypal albums over the next year.
Katy has a new record coming out soon and has been thinking about accompanying it with a poetry book she wrote from `04- `07.
