Short BiographySusan Melody George (born 26 July 1950) is a British actress and producer. Susan George has been acting since the age of four, appearing on both television and film. Her most notable roles include those of the rape victim Amy, alongside Dustin Hoffman, in Straw Dogs (1971), and Mary Coombs in Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry (1974). In the early 1970s George came to be associated with rather provocative, sometimes (as in Straw Dogs) controversial, roles and, to an extent, became type-cast. The film historian Leslie Halliwell`s rather terse summary was, "British leading lady, former child actress; usually typed as sexpot" (Filmgoer`s Companion, 8th ed 1984).George`s lighter side was apparent in some of her TV appearances, such as in an episode of The Persuaders (1971) with Roger Moore and Tony Curtis. In 1988 she marked her producing debut with Stealing Heaven. George has been married to British actor Simon MacCorkindale since 5 October 1984. They have no children. Her earlier relationships (including those with the singer Jack Jones and Charles, Prince of Wales, to whose wedding to Lady Diana Spencer she was invited in 1981) were widely reported in the press.
