Tyson, along with the other members of the band, has the AAR symbol tattooed on his chest.

Tyson and his former girlfriend, Kim Smith, had a four year relationship. However, they broke up in 2009 and Tyson wrote the popular song "Gives You Hell" about the breakup.

He is the lead vocalist and bassist of the band, The All-American Rejects.
