When she was younger, Yvonne loved to perform for her family and friends. She credits her creativity and passion for the arts to her father, a former band member, and her mother, who is into painting and photography.

In 2007, Yvonne made her big-screen film debut in the British psychological thriller, Gone, credited as Yvonne Strzechowski.

Although she portrays an American in the series, she briefly spoke in her real Australian accent in the episode "Chuck Versus The Ex".

She is a graduate of University of Western Sydney`s Theatre Nepean with a Bachelor of Arts in Performance. Strahovski appeared in some roles in Australian film and television and currently appears as Sarah Walker in the American television series Chuck. Strahovski speaks fluent Polish and employed it in a brief exchange in the Chuck episode "Chuck Versus The Wookiee"

Born in Maroubra, a suburb of Sydney, as Yvonne Strzechowski, she adopted the more phonetic spelling of Yvonne Strahovski as her stage name.

Sent in her audition tape for the show "Chuck" from Australia. Six months later she moved to the United States and was cast as the leading lady on "Chuck" two days later.
