The Toronto Argonauts are a professional Canadian football team competing in the East Division of the Canadian Football League. The Toronto, Ontario based team was founded in 1873, and is the oldest existing professional sports teams in North America still using its original name. The Chicago Cubs (1870) and the Atlanta Braves (1871) of Major League Baseball are older, but both teams have changed their name more than once, and the Braves have also changed cities. The Argonauts have played their home games at Rogers Centre since the stadium opened in 1989 and prior to that, played in Exhibition Stadium from 1959 to 1988. Prior to 1959, the Argonauts played at Varsity Stadium, on the campus of the University of Toronto.
