Irene met Bon at Adelaide`s Largs Pier Hotel in 1971, Scott had just came off stage with his band at the time, Fraternity. Irene married Bon on the 24th January, 1972 in Adelaide. They separated in 1974 before finally divorcing in 1978. After Bon`s motor crash, Irene helped nurse Bon back to full fitness even though their marriage was going through a rough patch. Irene and Bon remained friends till his death. Irene will be immortilised forever in the AC/DC song She Got Balls.
