"The couple already have three children together - Dora, three, Senan, two, and one-year-old Francis.'I was studying English literature, Catherine was doing English and history,' West told The Irish Independent.'It was from 1991 to 1994 and well before my acting career. Myself and Catherine have a lot of shared history together as well as three children.' But, West, 40, has also revealed how it wasn't always plain sailing for the couple and that Catherine previously broke off the relationship.'She dumped me. I was either too immature or too stupid to make our relationship work. She just told me, "We are not right for each other" ', West told The Irish Herald.'I was devastated, but being a bloke I pretended that I wasn't hurt. I was, of course. She then married somebody else, which was really hard to take.' Catherine went on to divorce her first husband, Ned Lambton, in 2002, after which she rekindled her romance with West, who proposed to her in 2007.
