"David Essex has been married twice before. He wed childhood sweetheart Maureen Neal in 1970. They had two children together, Verity, 38, and Danny, 33. They, though, separated in 1979 but did not divorce for another 17 years. Speaking of his first marriage, Essex has said: ‘I dunno if we were too young; possibly. I'm still great friends with my first wife. I care very much about people who have been in my life. I don't just turn off.’
