Flake girl’s fashion line
Two decades ago, her ­scantily clad figure nibbling a chocolate bar sent sales of Cadbury’s Flake soaring.
Now, with a new — and younger — man in her life, model Deborah Leng is embarking on a career as a fashion designer.
Deborah, 47, who was the long-term partner of Queen drummer Roger Taylor, by whom she has three ­children, is dating poet and TV presenter Charlie Ottley, 39, who she describes as ‘incredibly supportive in whatever I do’.
Debbie and business ­partner Fabio de Freitas have created FAB Couture, and pledge to make their clothing in Europe.
‘We want to spread the ­message that clothing does not need to be made in places like Bangladesh and China. Our first 12-piece collection is entirely made from Bennett Silks, a British company founded in 1904,’ she tells me.
