The couple are rumoured to have caught up last month when Ibrahim flew to New York to rendezvous with 24-year-old Taylor during New York Fashion Week.
A source for Ibrahim yesterday confirmed the pair had spent time together in New York, but said they were now just friends. Yet Taylor looks to be one habit that Ibrahim, the head of the well-known clan, can`t break. Taylor, who looks magnificent on the cover of the current edition of Vogue Australia, dated Ibrahim from 2003 to 2006.
We are told it was at Ibrahim`s urging she quit Australia to explore modelling opportunities in New York.
"She didn`t want to go ... John insisted that she not miss what might have been a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," his spokeswoman said.
Taylor moved to New York in 2007 and the pair continued a long-distance relationship for another year. Soon after, Ibrahim, who has a soft spot for blondes, moved on to private-school girl Chelsea Mitchell.
