George Edward Smith (né Haddad; born January 27, 1952) is an American guitarist. He was the lead guitarist for the duo Hall & Oates during the band's heyday from 1979 to 1985. He then served as the musical director of the sketch-comedy show Saturday Night Live from 1985 to 1995, where he was the leader of the Saturday Night Live Band.
