Having met at a charity event in 1999, Gallacher and her partner Paul Sampson live in Surrey. Their son Oscar was born in 2006, after which Gallacher suffered from post-natal thyroiditis. The couple got married on 24 July 2010 and separated in 2014. She gave birth to their second son, Jude Sidney, on 19 January 2010. Gallacher takes a keen interest in reading History books and has a passion for animal welfare.
She is a Liverpool F.C. supporter and is the cousin of golfer Stephen Gallacher. She is also a supporter of Hibernian F.C. and at the end of February 2013 she was named Patron of Hibernian ladies.[16] Gallacher has been best friends with fellow sports presenter Gabby Logan for over fifteen years. Gallacher said Logan had already been working for Sky when she came in at Sky as a runner, and they immediately hit it off.
