THE mystery lover who almost split Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster was supermodel Caprice Bourret, we can reveal.
Randy Rod dated both at the same time until Penny told him: “It’s me or her.”
A friend of Caprice said: “Caprice was at the height of her fame.
"Even Prince Harry had her calendar.
“Rod got her number and called for a date.
"She agreed immediately, and dumped her boyfriend for him.
"But all of a sudden, Rod stopped returning her calls.
“Her ego was crushed.
Rod had recently split from second wife Rachel Hunter when he went to see Caprice at London club G-A-Y in summer 1999.
In his biography, he claims he and Penny began dating in August 1999.
