She was only 16 when she met Ronnie Wood in 1964. Slender, blonde and fragile, Krissy had an ethereal beauty that chimed with the times and she had already embarked on a successful modelling career. Ronnie, meanwhile, was guitarist with the Small Faces. They married in 1971.
Legend has it that Krissy was responsible for Ronnie joining the Stones, after she arrived home one night from a London club with Keith Richards in tow. She introduced him to Ronnie and the two men began writing together. Krissy is also said to be the inspiration for the songs `Mystifies Me` and `Breathe On Me`, written by Ronnie. Thereafter, life began to get both looser and more complicated. Rolling Stones money bought Ronnie and Krissy a lavish home in Richmond and the Stones name gave them a place in rock `n` roll aristocracy. It also bought them time to get bored, drink a great deal and seek amusement elsewhere.
After the Page interlude (1974) Krissy and Ronnie got back together and Krissy became pregnant. Their son Jesse was born in 1977. By then, however, Ronnie had met Jo Howard, who was to become his next wife. Krissy cited Jo in her divorce petition in 1978. She let Ronnie have the marital home on the assurance that Ronnie would always "look after" her. He paid her a weekly allowance for Jesse and Krissy was disappointed when he later cut it because of an apparent downturn in his own income from investments. "He promised he would always take care of me. Now he`s broken that promise, " she said. Ronnie`s cutting of her allowance caused her to contemplate suicide twice.
Wood has six children. Jesse is his son with his first wife, Krissy (née Findlay), a former model to whom he was married from 1971 to 1978. During this time he had an affair with George Harrison's former wife, Pattie Boyd. Findlay died in 2005.
