"A reporter's report: The talk in Hollywood concerns Chicago's Chris Foufas and how he "stole" his best friend's girl, Shannen Doherty, star of TV's "Beverly Hills, 90210." Doherty was linked romantically with another Chicagoan, developer Evan Musikantow - until he introduced her to Foufas. That was the end of the Doherty-Musikantow idyll, and now she's engaged to Foufas. (At least her heart stays in Chicago.)"
On Saturday, December 28th 1991 The Buffalo News published:
"Q -- What's all the fuss about Shannen Doherty's new boyfriend?
A --Doherty is making a big splash on the hit TV series "Beverly Hills, 90210." It follows, therefore, that the media will closely track her succession of celebrity-type boyfriends. There's been a change in that department recently. Doherty had been dating Chicago businessman Evan Musikantow. That is, until she met his "best friend," Chris Foufas. Now she's reportedly engaged to Foufas."
In the August 1992 issue of YM magazine, Shannen explained it all: “Oh yeah, we [real estate developer Chris Foufas and her] met in a very interesting manner ... Basically I was dating his best friend [Evan Musikantow]... is ot as bad as it sounds. And his best friend turned out to be the biggest jerk in the world.
And I wroke up with him. Then Chris and I started becoming friends... We just fell in love.”
