In 1992 he left Mary Shepherd - his wife of 20 years and mother of his daughter Laura (who is five years older than his current lover) and son Luke (two years Miss Hobbs' senior) - for beautiful 35-year-old singer-songwriter Teri Bramah.
The subsequent scandal and the strain of the split left the actor claiming he had endured 'immense misery' and he turned to 'rolfing' - a form of alternative therapy - as well as meditation to help him cope with the stress.
To begin with it was a passionate affair, with lounge singer Miss Bramah moving into his Bristol home. But six years later the relationship fizzled out and Robinson went on to have series of short-lived liaisons until he met the equally pretty Miss Mathias....
