In his statement, Tom said that he left for the US on March 13 “with the realization that despite all my efforts, Carla had already given up on our marriage.”
“A lot has been said against me but in the end, Carla and I are the only two people who know the truth,” he said.
He also defended himself against the so-called lies that have been said about him, without specifying what these were.
“I will no longer dwell on the reasons why our marriage fell apart. So many lies have been said of me which are completely untrue and utterly unfair,” he said.
He admitted to falling short as a partner, disclosing that at one point he was scammed and lost all his money. However he stressed: “at no time did I ever lay a hand on Carla.”
The actor said that he has accepted Carla’s decision to split up. And while he admitted that it will be difficult to move on, he said that he has a strong support system in his family in the US.
He ended his statement by saying that now that their divorce is final, “I truly wish Carla’s birthday wish be granted and that she finds the happiness she is searching for.”

I just watched him in the tv series My Husbands Lover (2018) and hate to bust anyone's 'bubble' but I sense Tom is more into his character than he is willing to admit! I am gay (old one at that) and the vibes he gives off (those vibes that activate my 'gaydar') are all too apparent, and want to say: come on 'out!' O.K., having said that, he comes across as a nice personable person and hope he has a great career and we have a chance to see him in many more productions. [Oh, his romance with Carla, well, to the uninformed ever hear of the word "beard?"). Really mean lol!

Bakit PATAY ang publicity sa loveteam nila CARLA and TOM? Talaga bang pinapatay nila or dahil gusto nilang I-build up ang ibang love teams? Ang taas na ng ratings ng ABS-CBN dahil mas magaganda ang love teams ng teleseryes nila doon, while sa GMA7 PATAY WALNG BUHAY ang love teams nila Janine at Elmo ganun din yung Nino at sinu ba yun? Kahit pangalan nga hindi magregister sa viewers. GMA should bring back the TANDEM of TOMCAR!!! Yung PR nila TOM and CARLA hindi rin nagtatrabaho....walang write-ups regarding the love team! The fans are clamoring for more TOMCAR publicities. Dapat masundan na rin ang "MY DESTINY"! Grabeh kailan pa?
