Gotta love the eyeglass character. ;o)

Harold Lloyd was the "boy" who had this look down to a T. He first made the eyeglass character popular in the film, "Over the fence" in 1917. He paid a wopping 75 cents for a pair of round horn rim eyeglasses (lenses removed) because Harold Lloyd didn`t really need to wear them in real life. It made him hugely popular and recognizable along with the skimmer hat that he often wore too. It wasn`t just a unique look back then, but a sort of fashion too that he set. Just my opinion. ;o)

Talking about fashion from so long ago, who couldn`t forget to mention the skimmer hat, or known as a boater`s hat too? I picked Mr. Moreno for my fashion model because he has that `classic` Roaring Twenties look. Again arrow collars were the "in fashion" during this time too until 1925. The skimmer hat was popular for men worn year around just about from the 1910s-1940s (i think). Like I say, gotta love a man in a skimmer hat. ;o)

Henry Ford is dressed respectively in an arrow collar, which was a collar made fashionable by the creation of JC Lendecker, "the arrow collar" man was popular from around the turn of the last century until 1925. The arrow collar was fastened by collar buttons, starched, and detattatchable.
6. Ok, I couldnt think of a good catagory other than best looking... you decide, magic... - posted 1 year ago
I picked Harry Houdini because he was the start of it all pretty much. I also choose him because of his magnificent acting in the silent films, "Terror Island", "The man of mystery", "The man from Beyond", which is romantic in my view. Overall on magic, and getting out of a straight jacket, all I can say is Wow! ;o)
7. Who made the hottest Dracula on the silver screen? - posted 1 year ago
I choose Bela Lugosi just because his claim to fame was Dracula, which was released in 1931. The re-make of Dracula starring Frank Langella came out in 1977. I also choose Bela because he just `fit` the role because he just had this alluring... dark and sensual magnetism that he brought in the role of Dracula. This is just my opinion. ;o)
8. Who burns up the silver screen, Antonio Moreno , or Rudolph Valentino? - posted 1 year ago
I picked Moreno over Valentino because I have seen nearly all of Valentino`s silent films so far. I decided on Moreno because his recognition isn`t all that famous other than his later films, such as Creature from the Black Lagoon. I can only hope that more of his silents will be found in years to come, restored and released onto dvd. I would love to see him in Mare Nostrum (our sea) starring Alice Terry and also in The Three Sevens, as Daniel Craig. Gotta love a man in a skimmer hat, but thats just me. ;o)
9. Who`s the better inventor, Thomas Edison, or his friend, Henry Ford? - posted 1 year ago
Personally, I choose Thomas Edison. His phonographs are absolutely amazing! I can`t say anything about Henry Ford`s Model T, or Model A because I don`t own either. I just thought he was a good inventor of the automobile beginning with the 2 cylinder Quadrocycle in 1907. The Model T came into production during the years of 1908-1927, replaced by the Model A.
10. Harold Lloyd - posted 1 year ago
Love Harold Lloyd in the films, Safety Last!, Speedy, Hot Water, Dr. Jack, Are Crooks Dishonest?, and an Eastern Westerner. He was a very versitile actor and one of the first ever dare devils with his stunt work. Absolutely amazing! Love the skimmer hat and round horn rim eyeglasses. ;o)
