Thank you so much for supporting the Gurkhars. These wonderful men are the most staunch allies of the Queen and this country. They are willing to lay down their lives for us, the least we can do is to offer them the chance to live here if they want to. Please keep on backing our politicians into corners - it`s a lesson to us all. p.s. Have you ever thought of going into politics; rectify injustice from the inside.

Re: The Gurkhas - Like yourself I was born in India whilst my Father was serving in the British Army, and I have a great respect for the Gurkhas. What other people would offer their lives to serve Britain and its interests. Take our `government` to the European Court if necessary and get the Gurkhas their just reward. This situation should never have come about. Eternal shame on our spineless politicians.

Well done Joanna the Gurkhas deserve to stay here if they wish. They were good enough to fight for this country and risk their lives for it, they deserve to be respected for it. How many come into this country and take all the benefits and freeby`s but when it comes to fighting for the country they go back to their own. Well done Joanna Lumley in your fight for the Gurkhas just rights. I am ashamed to be British when our so called representatives do nothing for such gallant men who have done so much for Great Britain. I cannot understand why the Government (of any persuasion) gives asylum to so many and ignores the rights of those who justly deserve the best!

Of all the great things Joanna has done, and all the great entertainment she has provided over the years the campaign on behalf of the Gurkhas has been her most honourable deed and greatest achievement. Well done for sticking up for these great people and helping to correct an injustice.
