When Liane married James Marsters in the late 1980s, they received a car as wedding present. Liane told her new husband to put in anti-freeze before they drove back to Chicago; he didn`t; and they spend part of their honeymoon playing dime poker and freezing in Nebraska while car was repaired.

Liane Davidson is a native of Modesto who attended Davis High School and went on to study professional theatre in New York, London, and St. Louis. Davidson founded the Genesis Theatre in Chicago and the New Mercury Theatre in Seattle. During her tenure at New Mercury, it was one of most successful intimate theatres in Seattle both artistically and financially. New Mercury was widely recognized for serving a diverse community with a variety of community focused programming. From September 1999 - September 200, Liane Davidson served as the interim director of The State Theatre in Modesto. Married to James Marsters during her years in Chicago and Seattle, the couple had a son, Sullivan in 1996. After the couple divorced in 1997, Liane re-married and has two more sons with her second husband.
