no Richard did not do his own singing. He was dubbed by Jim Bryant as Natalie Wood was dubbed by Marnie Nixon. its a shame though. But i still pretend they did ;) oh and also he is still alive. Eveyone of the primary characters (anita, bernardo, riff, tony and maria) are all alive EXCEPT for Natalie Wood who sadly died in 1981.

I`m trying to find out of Richard Beymer did all his own singing in West Side Story. ANd if he`s still alive . Will someone please email me with the answers ? Thnx
